Caracle Creek

The Company

In 1997, Scott Jobin-Bevans met Trevor Richardson at the Beef’ n Bird restaurant in Sudbury, Ontario while helping to promote an upstart junior exploration company giving an investor presentation. This meeting was the starting point to a long friendship and business relationship.

Scott had been providing geological expertise to Sudbury area companies as a consultant and subsequently hired Trevor to work on various projects. Their business collaboration continued to grow ultimately evolving into a true partnership.

In 1999 Trevor relocated to South Africa to work on an Anglo American Platinum sponsored M.Sc./Ph.D., but soon recognized the great potential in geological consulting in South Africa.

By September 2001 a decision was made to incorporate Caracle Creek International Consulting Inc. in Canada and South Africa. The name “Caracle” was derived from an African cat (spelled Caracal) which Co-Founder Richardson saw while on a geological traverse. The Co-Founders shared a vision to “grow an international, professional team that would readily adapt to client exploration needs by providing a wide range of geological services”.

Soon after, John Hancox, who Trevor recruited from Witwatersrand University in South Africa, and Stephen Wetherup, who Scott recruited from Industry Canada, joined the company as junior partners, bringing new core competencies to the group.

Today, the company founders continue to nurture their vision of meeting client needs by embracing new exploration technologies and following their core strengths of sound geological principles and a strong work ethic.
